Awesome spot for a chill but delicious meal, especially if you’re curious about or are a fan of Portuguese food. Peri Peri chicken is special, as are the egg tarts. What made this place great was how friendly the service team are - they even let us hang out to catch up in my group post meal on a weekday evening as it quietened down later. Definitely a neighborhood spot!

the overall experience was excellent - very yum food with every dish we had! i usually don’t like soupy rice dishes but this one was so good! enjoyed the soup. a lot of rice at the bottom makes the portion seem smaller than it actually is. cannot go wrong with the prawns and octopus either. the egg tarts were very thic and perfectly creamy with cinnamon hints. the atmosphere was very intimate too. the experience makes me want to visit Portugal again for its cuisine that is so unique.

This is a very nice restaurant to enjoy authentic Portuguese food. Authentic doesn’t mean it is for everyone. But I really like the tiger shrimp and the dessert. Service is good and warm. The sandwich is a little bit too much for me haha overall really worth the time to go down for a nice meal

Made reservations for brunch this past weekend and dined here with some out of town friends. It was actually my second time here, but this past summer I was in Portugal and I had a much deeper appreciation of the food this go around. We ordered the roasted beet salad to share amongst 4 people, and it was a good serving. Super fresh and bright. We also ordered the francesinha (which comes with a side of fries) and camarao ao Alho (shrimp in garlic and bourbon sauce). The francesinha was pretty heavy and too salty for my taste, but everything else was delicious. The shrimp came with a generous portion of baguette for dipping which made me so happy! We had discovered vino verde on this recent trip to Caiscais, so also had some with brunch, naturally. Although we were so full, we shared pasteis de nata for dessert. We had great service and everyone was very attentive and allowed us to slowly enjoy our food and conversation. We were seated outside, which was nice and the space heaters were very toasty!

I do not have enough expertise in Portugese food to comment on whether it’s super authentic, but @leitaonyc definitely has yummy food! The portions are quite big so it’s good to share as a group. This was still a lot for the 3 of us. The seafood with rice was seasoned well and made me feel like I was in Europe! The sandwich was delicious and special but very heavy so I could only have a few bites. There are so many options and any meat or seafood lover would enjoy it there!

We had a reservation at Leitao for dinner and arrived about 30 mins early and was invited to sit at the bar until our table was ready. Originally we opt for the outside heating area and since temperatures seemed to have fallen we were able to change our resy to indoor. We saw the seating area, but I am not sure if the heating lamps are comfortably powerful when temps are 30-40 degrees. While waiting at the bar we were able to order drinks and the bartender was very friendly. There is an area right behind the bar seating where you can hang your coat, which I thought was perfectly placed. Once our table was ready we were seated and we ordered Piri Piri chicken and the Seafood with rice. Both dishes were extremely delicious and full of so much flavor! We shared both dishes and even left with leftovers of the Seafood with rice. We were stuffed! The service was great. The staff was attentive and very helpful with cocktail recommendations. Although they didn't have some liquers that we requested they were still able to come up with substitutes for us. We enjoyed our stay so much that we didn't realize that Leitao closes at 11pm. The staff did not even rush us (and other patrons) to leave. They were all so kind and hospitable. I'll definitely return to Leitao in the future!

Coming in for solo dining on the Friday before the Columbus Day, and sitting at the bar. This is my first time here and first experience with Portuguese food. The light was a little dim and the noise level was ok. The food was really nice. I had Camarao ao Alho and (daily special) Camarao Tigre for appetizers, Peri peri chicken for entree, and Pera em Vinho do Porto for dessert. Given I have finished my food, I can be very sure that Camarao means shrimp in Portuguese. Both appetizers have bourbon in them. For peri peri chicken, I felt the spicy level mild: the spiciness was always there, and in low to medium intensity rather than crazy hot. The dessert was super tasty. A laid down pear sat on mascarpone with a cinnamon stick ran through the whole pear. There are also Tawny Port and black pepper. So it is not hard to imagine the dessert doesn’t make you feel cloying. Overall, this was a super cool first impression on the Portuguese dishes.

The food was definitely delicious. With all the dressing, creamy sauce and fatty meat, it turned out a bit heavy at the end. I’d recommend to balance the dishes and order some light and refreshing appetizers. My favorite dishes are the pork ribs, baby lamb ribs and burrata salad.
